I Almost Ran Out of Vacation
August has been a crazy busy month for me and I got some cool shots in the process. Lets not bore the blog with words; check it out. . .
Early in the month I tested out an app on my phone that let me know what exact direction, time, and angle the sun would set (TPE - The Photographers Ephemeris). As you see below it worked out pretty well and I was able to plan for my shots.
A good friend that I have worked with for almost 20 years has retired from "the company". He didn't want a party but said he wouldn't mind going to Las Vegas to celebrate with a few buddies. So of course we respected his wishes and headed to Vegas baby!! We visited the strip, walked downtown, saw the Absinthe show (it was awesome), and rode the High Roller Observation Deck.
I also had the pleasure of seeing one of my Godchildren head off to college. So we had a great dinner for her. The family attended the Texas Rangers baseball game. As you probably saw in a previous blog post, I attended a Jason Lanier Workshop (this dude is awesome and you really need to check out his work; just google him). I had time to go visit Rowlett, TX with a friend to take a few bridge pictures at night and still found time to capture images of ordinary stuff around the job and home that interested me. Yes . . . more power line shots.
Images used are my own. Captured using Sony A6000 with a mixture of the 16-50 kit lens, LAEA4 A mount adapter, 28-75mm 2.8 A-Mount, & 20mm 2.8 A-mount. (Except for the selfie - that was an iPhone 6)
