Downtown Indianapolis Walk About
I don’t take the opportunity to travel often but sometimes I have to travel for work purposes. What I have to ensure is that I am “on” and focused on my responsibilities to my employer. There are occassions during trips that will offer a bit of free time at the end of a long day of learning sessions. These are the moments I get to go out and explore the city.
I was in Indianapolis for a few days for a non-photography industry specific event but we had some free time at the end of the day. When I arrived in early May the weather was forecasted for rain the whole week but the sun and clouds kept battling for control of the skies. Luckily I had a buddy, Jared, that was also attending this event and he is just as much of a photog nerd as I am.
I do enjoy taking photographs of people as portraits but I also enjoy the city views and sometimes it is much less stressful to take pics of a subject that won’t get tired before me for the infamous “just 1 more shot”.
I had the pleasure of staying at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis, so I was at what seemed like a central location and within walking distance to some photo worthy spots. The threat of rain remained throughout the week but we would walk the city anyway. I love the effect rain has on my images anyway. One minute the skies were cloudy and gloomy and the next moment the sun would peek through.
Overall this was an enjoyable trip where I not only received valuable insight related to work, but still had an opportunity to chase light in the city. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed capturing the images.
