Road Trip to Arkansas
We wanted to head out and visit my dad in Arkansas. We really just expected to chill for the weekend and just hangout. Well, we were in for a little more than that. Dad had made sure we didn’t get bored and took us on a day trip to a few places we have been wanting to check out.
So we go out to Anthony Chapel in Garvan Woodland Gardens. The Carillon Tower right next to the chapel was pretty cool. I’m pretty sure everyone who has visited has gotten the same shot; I had to get my own.
This place has beautiful architecture. Glass everywhere and it blends well with the surrounding trees. The trick is to catch the chapel when there isn’t an event reserving it. The wedding that was happening when we drove up was wrapping up so we were able to go inside and get up close. We were in a little rush because we were racing daylight so we briefly took a few minutes to walk around a bit. There is still so much to see here so we will be going back and to check out the waterfalls, bridges, and gardens.
Remember this is a day trip. So off we go to Hot Springs. We were getting low on daylight so we pass through the center of Hot Springs straight to the winding road that led to Hot Springs Mountain Tower. Great views of Arkansas from up there. We spent a few minutes up there getting a few captures and went back down for a souvenir t-shirt.
It was a short trip that day and the whole weekend seemed to go really quickly (they always seem to). More to come; I’ve got more Dallas pics to post from a recent walk around.
